Day 2 - Colby, KS to Crested Butte, CO

Driving from Kansas to Crested Butte was much more exciting than driving from Macomb to Kansas. Once you get close to Colorado Springs, you start seeing mountains, then you start going through them to work your way in to CB.

Some of what we saw on our way:

I did a little painting in Goodland, KS
Actually, it's a little larger than the first photo makes it look. (that's me standing under it)
Here's another shot looking up at it.
It's actually the largest easel in the world: here for more info

In Colorado Springs there's a road named after Sarah (her maiden name was Powers)

Heading through the mountains, we crossed over the continental divide in an area called Monarch Pass. Here's a photo of me by the sign. I also took one of Sarah, and I plan on photoshopping them together to make it look like we were both standing there at the same time.

Once we got to Gunnison, I took some photos of Western State College which is where my aunt and uncle teach.

We then headed north from Gunnison to Crested Butte (about 45 minutes) and arrived at around 6:30 local time (mountain time zone). Just in time to unload and relax for a few minutes and then have dinner with the family.

So, that's where we were at as of last night, I'll try to post something this evening to show what all we did today.
